Oman Horizon Bulletin

Muscat: The 2025 Muscat Classic delivered an exhilarating contest as Rick Pluimers surged to victory in a tightly contested finish, marking a significant triumph for his Swiss team.

Early Breakaway and Tactical Racing

The race kicked off with Rasmus Bogg Wallin and Adne van Engelen forming an early breakaway. However, their lead was short-lived as the peloton reeled them in with 40 kilometers to go, setting the stage for a fresh battle at the front.

A new lead group emerged, featuring Max Kanter, Xabier Mikel Azparren, and Rayan Boulahoite, sparking an intense pursuit by the chasing pack. As the race approached the final 1-kilometer climb, Damien Howson made a daring attack, with Harper, Vine, and Ruben Guerreiro in close pursuit.

Pluimers Prevails in Final Sprint

Despite the late moves, the sprint-focused teams quickly responded, neutralizing attacks inside the final kilometer. In the end, Rick Pluimers demonstrated superior power and tactical precision, dominating the reduced sprint group to claim a well-earned victory.

Final Podium Standings

Joining Pluimers on the podium were Jenthe Biermans, who secured second place, and Henok Mulubrhan, who finished third after a competitive sprint finish.

The 2025 Muscat Classic once again highlighted the region’s growing significance in the international cycling calendar, delivering a thrilling spectacle for fans and reinforcing its status as a premier early-season race.
