According to the FSA, about 3,000 Complaints have been filed against Insurance providers in Oman.

According to the Financial Services Authority’s (FSA) 2024 annual customer protection statistics, 22,544 requests—including questions, reports, and complaints—were addressed.

Muscat: With 19,665 encounters, the majority were inquiries, indicating a greater public awareness of financial laws and regulations.

With 2,627 cases, complaints from the insurance industry topped the list, indicating a growing need for consumer protection in insurance services.

An additional 18 complaints were filed against the Authority itself, while 35 complaints were filed against securities firms and public joint stock corporations.

The significance of regulatory control in guaranteeing fair financial practices was emphasized by the 164 examples of reported illegal or unethical financial operations.

Additionally, the FSA has introduced an online tool called “Statistics on the Protection of Clients in the Capital Market and Insurance Sectors,” which offers up-to-date information on client complaints, questions, and comments. The platform tracks consumer satisfaction and regulatory enforcement activities while improving public access to important financial data.
