Oman CAA Issues Weather Forecast: Fog, Dust, and Possible Rain Expected

Oman Horizon Bulletin

Muscat, Oman – The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has released its latest weather forecast, indicating a mix of clear and partly cloudy skies across various regions of the Sultanate of Oman. While most areas will experience stable conditions, some regions may see intermittent cloud cover, light rain, fog formation, and dust activity.

Weather Outlook for Today

According to the CAA, the Musandam Governorate, coastal areas along the Sea of Oman, and sections of the Al Hajar Mountains may experience intermittent cloud cover with brief, scattered showers. Meanwhile, high-altitude clouds are expected to pass over other parts of the country, maintaining generally clear conditions.

Fog and Dust Alerts

Residents in the following regions should prepare for fog patches, which may reduce visibility, especially late at night and in the early morning:

  • Al Wusta
  • Dhofar
  • South Al Sharqiyah
  • Al Dakhiliyah
  • Al Buraimi
  • Al Dhahirah

Additionally, dust storms may develop in open desert areas, further impacting horizontal visibility. The CAA advises caution for drivers and travelers, especially in fog-prone and dusty regions, to ensure road safety.

Safety Precautions

The Civil Aviation Authority urges residents to:

  • Drive carefully in foggy conditions to avoid accidents.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel in areas with low visibility due to dust or fog.
  • Stay updated on official weather advisories for real-time alerts.

Looking Ahead

While no severe weather disturbances are expected, occasional cloud formation and light rainfall may occur in select regions. The CAA will continue to monitor weather conditions and issue necessary updates to ensure public safety.
