Emirates Expands Routes to Ho Chi Minh City, Johannesburg, Lisbon, Melbourne, and More with Fleet Enhancements for 2025

Emirates, a global leader in aviation, has unveiled its updated Northern Summer 2025 schedule, effective March 30, 2025. The new schedule reflects the airline’s strategy to adapt to increasing passenger demand and optimize its fleet usage. Key changes include a reduction in Airbus A380 operations and broader deployment of Boeing 777 aircraft, catering to various global routes with enhanced efficiency.

Key Route Updates

Dubai – Addis Ababa:
Starting May 1, 2025, Emirates will replace the Boeing 777-300ER with the 777-200LR on this route. This daily service aligns with the airline’s goal to offer more tailored passenger experiences and maintain seamless connectivity between Dubai and Ethiopia’s capital city.

Dubai – Ho Chi Minh City:
From June 1, 2025, the EK364/365 route will transition to a Boeing 777-200LR. The change ensures optimized capacity and service quality on this popular Southeast Asian route, meeting growing traveler demand.

Dubai – Johannesburg:
Effective March 30, 2025, Emirates will operate EK761/762 flights with a three-class Boeing 777-300ER, replacing one of the two daily A380 services. This adjustment maintains premium service while better aligning capacity with demand on this vital route to South Africa.

Dubai – Lisbon:
On September 21, 2025, Emirates will introduce the Boeing 777-200LR to the Dubai-Lisbon route, replacing the 777-300ER. This change is designed to enhance fuel efficiency and align services with passenger preferences on this key European connection.

Dubai – London Gatwick:
Between March 30 and September 30, 2025, Emirates will operate EK011/012 with a two-class Boeing 777-300ER, reducing A380 services from three to two daily flights. This strategic move balances capacity while maintaining high-quality service on one of its busiest European routes.

Dubai – Melbourne:
Starting March 30, 2025, Emirates will add a third nonstop daily flight on the Dubai-Melbourne route, using the Boeing 777-300ER. The additional frequency addresses growing demand and provides greater flexibility for travelers.

Dubai – Muscat:
From March 30, 2025, Emirates will introduce the A350-900 on EK866/867 flights, replacing the 777-300ER. On April 5, 2025, EK862/863 will operate once weekly with the 777-300ER, highlighting efforts to modernize fleet operations on this regional route.

Dubai – Oslo:
Between March 30 and July 31, 2025, Emirates will use a three-class Boeing 777-300ER for EK862/863 flights, temporarily suspending First Class reservations. This change ensures continuity of service while addressing fleet availability.

Dubai – Shanghai Pu Dong:
The EK302/303 route will retain its three-class Boeing 777-300ER configuration starting June 1, 2025. Plans to reintroduce the A380 have been deferred, focusing on consistency in service.

Dubai – Singapore – Melbourne:
Effective March 30, 2025, this route will be discontinued, while Emirates will maintain four daily flights on the Dubai-Singapore route, meeting high demand with uninterrupted service.
