Foreign visitors who intend to drive in Oman are warned by ROP.

Now, it is easier for transit visitors and foreign tourists to get on the road in the Sultanate of Oman.

MUSCAT: Under certain restrictions, travelers with valid driver’s licenses from their home countries are allowed to drive in Oman, according to the Royal Oman Police (ROP). Only tourists or travelers traveling through Oman are subject to the policy. For a maximum of three months following the date of admission into the country, the foreign or international driver’s license must be valid. Additionally, official vehicle associations are required to provide foreign driver’s licenses that Oman accepts.
