Oman Air Clarifies Muscat-Salalah Ticket Pricing Amid Public Concerns

Muscat: Oman Air has addressed concerns regarding ticket pricing for flights between Muscat and Salalah, following recent discussions on social media.
In response to inquiries, the airline reaffirmed that it maintains fixed prices for Omani citizens traveling in Economy Class on this route throughout the year. These fixed fares are structured as follows:
- Saving Tourism Category: OMR 61 for a round trip, including 7 kg of cabin baggage (no checked baggage).
- Flexible Tourism Category: OMR 64 for a round trip, including 7 kg of cabin baggage and 20 kg of checked baggage.
For passengers seeking additional luggage options, Oman Air provides Economy Class tickets with 30 kg of checked baggage at OMR 87, along with a variety of Business Class offerings. The airline clarified that some instances of Business Class fares being mistaken for Economy Class prices have contributed to confusion, particularly when Economy Class seats sell out.
As the leading operator for flights to Dhofar Governorate, Oman Air currently operates five daily flights on this route. This number increases to around 12 flights during peak travel periods such as the Khareef season to accommodate heightened demand.
To secure tickets at the fixed rates available for Omani citizens, the airline advises passengers to book in advance via its official website (omanair.com) or mobile application, particularly during busy travel seasons.
Reaffirming its commitment to passenger satisfaction, Oman Air continues to enhance travel experiences by offering diverse pricing and service options. The airline expressed appreciation to its loyal customers and urged them to utilize official booking channels for the most accurate and up-to-date information on fares and availability.
