Pakistani Passengers Stranded in Bangkok for Two Days Due to Flight Glitch

Oman Horizon Bulletin

Islamabad: Pakistani passengers traveling from Sydney to Pakistan have been stuck in Bangkok for the past two days following a technical issue with a Thai Airways flight, according to ARY News.

Flight Disruptions and Passenger Hardships

  • Passengers were initially left waiting for six hours at Bangkok airport, expecting an alternative flight.
  • Thai Airways cancelled the scheduled flight, leaving travelers stranded.
  • The airline arranged accommodation at a hotel over an hour away from the airport, but inadequate facilities worsened the passengers’ ordeal.
  • Many passengers also missed their connecting flights due to the airline’s mismanagement.
  • Stranded travelers have appealed to Pakistani authorities for assistance.

Upcoming Dhaka-Karachi Flight Operations

Meanwhile, Karachi-based airline Fly Jinnah is set to launch Dhaka-Karachi flights, as announced by Bangladeshi government officials.

  • The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has approved Fly Jinnah’s proposal for direct flights.
  • This move follows the recent launch of a direct shipping line between Chittagong (Bangladesh) and Karachi (Pakistan).
  • Additional Secretary Abdul Naser Khan of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism confirmed that a formal agreement will be signed soon.

Pakistani authorities are now being urged to step in and assist the stranded passengers in Bangkok.
