At the fourth session of the International Dates Council, which was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Oman participated through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources.
RIYADH: The meeting, led by Oman’s delegation head, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Nasser Al-Bakri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, reviewed the council’s annual report for the year and discussed its ambitious plans for 2025.
Key topics included initiatives to market and promote dates in collaboration with the private sector, refining marketing standards for date varieties, enhancing quality to meet global market demands, and creating a comprehensive database for palm trees and dates. The council also underscored the importance of agricultural research to boost innovation in the sector.
