Oman to Host 8th Indian Ocean Conference to Strengthen Maritime Partnerships

Muscat, February 2 – The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is set to host the 8th edition of the Indian Ocean Conference (IOC) on February 16, 2025, under the theme “Voyage to New Horizons of Maritime Partnership.” The conference will focus on fostering inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation in the maritime sector while addressing challenges faced by nations bordering the Indian Ocean.
Oman’s Commitment to Maritime Security and Regional Cooperation
His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that hosting the event reflects Oman’s dedication to maritime security, sustainable trade, and international cooperation. He noted that the conference serves as a strategic platform for discussions on the blue economy, ocean governance, and regional stability. Oman aims to facilitate meaningful dialogue that aligns with the interests of all participating nations while promoting peace, economic prosperity, and environmental sustainability.

The Indian Ocean Conference aims to:
