At the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the Sultanate of Oman took part in the Human Development, Youth, Health, and Education Day on behalf of the Ministry of Education.
MUSCAT : The Ministry’s delegation was headed by H.E. Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, who actively engaged in discussions focused on environmental sustainability in education.
During the session, which was organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in cooperation with the University of Cambridge, Dr. Ambosaidi participated in a ‘Ministerial Discussion on Green Education and Planning for the Future’. The discussion emphasized the critical role of education in shaping future generations’ attitudes toward sustainability and environmental stewardship.
In his remarks, Dr. Ambosaidi highlighted Oman’s efforts to promote environmental sustainability within the education sector. He specifically referred to the Ministry of Education’s ongoing initiatives aimed at ‘greening’ education.
