Harbhajan Cautions India About Fakhar Zaman Ahead of Champions Trophy Clash
Oman Horizon Bulletin

New Delhi: Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has urged the Indian cricket team to stay vigilant against Pakistan’s explosive opener, Fakhar Zaman, in their upcoming Champions Trophy showdown.
The highly anticipated India-Pakistan clash is set to take place in Dubai on February 23, reigniting one of cricket’s most celebrated rivalries. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan highlighted Fakhar as a key threat, emphasizing his ability to single-handedly change the game’s momentum.
“Fakhar has the experience and capability to take the game away from India,” Harbhajan warned.
Fakhar Zaman has a solid record against India in ODIs, having scored 234 runs in six matches at an impressive average of 46.80 and a strike rate of 82.39. His attacking style makes him a formidable opponent for India’s bowling attack.
Cricket fans vividly remember the 2017 Champions Trophy final at The Oval, where Fakhar played a match-winning knock. After being given a reprieve early in his innings, he capitalized on the opportunity and smashed 114 off 106 balls, propelling Pakistan to a massive total of 338/4. India struggled under the scoreboard pressure and eventually suffered a crushing 180-run defeat.
Historically, Pakistan holds an edge over India in the Champions Trophy, having won three of their five encounters in the tournament. As the defending champions, Pakistan will be keen to maintain their dominance, while India will look to turn the tide in their favor.
Leading into the tournament, India appears to be in formidable form. The Rohit Sharma-led side recently whitewashed England 3-0 in an ODI series, showcasing a well-rounded and in-form squad. On the other hand, Pakistan has faced challenges with consistency. Despite a stunning run chase of 353 against South Africa in the recent Tri-Nation series, they struggled in other matches, including a lackluster final against New Zealand, where they were convincingly defeated.
As the Champions Trophy kicks off, India will begin their campaign against Bangladesh in Dubai before facing their arch-rivals Pakistan in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter. With both teams carrying contrasting momentum, all eyes will be on how they perform under pressure on the big stage.
