Oman Horizon Bulletin
The Royal Cars Museum’s formal opening at Al Barakah Palace will be attended by His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said.
MUSCAT : The museum, which has long been a private collection, will now be accessible to the public following a royal order, offering a rare glimpse into the world of royal automobiles.
The Royal Cars Museum boasts a rich collection of classic, rare, and sports cars that have been carefully preserved and maintained over the years, many of which were once personal vehicles of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sultan Said bin Taimur, and Sayyid Tarik bin Taimur. The museum’s inception traces back to Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who envisioned a space to showcase the royal collection, starting with just two cars belonging to Sultan Said bin Taimur.
Over the years, the collection grew with the addition of rare and modern cars, culminating in the establishment of a dedicated building in 2012. Until now, visits to the museum were reserved for royal guests, but with the royal order, the doors will now open to the public, inviting all to explore this fascinating heritage of royal motoring history.
