The CAA has extended the deadline for the MRO facility management at Muscat International Airport.
Oman Horizon Bulletin
The deadline for businesses to show interest in running and overseeing the new Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at Muscat International Airport has been extended by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Muscat – Interested companies now have until December 5, 2024, at 17:00 (GMT+4) to submit their applications.
This investment opportunity is part of the CAA’s broader efforts to enhance the Sultanate of Oman’s civil aviation sector and position the country as a key regional player in the aircraft maintenance industry. The MRO facility project is expected to be completed by mid-2025 and will feature state-of-the-art buildings and infrastructure capable of servicing various types of aircraft, including large models such as the Airbus A380.
The project aims to support the growing demand for aircraft maintenance services, driven by the global recovery in air traffic following the Covid-19 pandemic. Oman’s strategic location, connecting key aviation markets in Asia, Africa, and Europe, makes it an ideal hub for this ambitious development. The facility will cater to the needs of the international aviation community, capitalizing on Oman’s position as a regional center for aircraft maintenance in the Middle East.
The CAA is inviting specialised companies to participate in this significant project and encourages potential investors to contact the authority via email at mro@caa.gov.om to receive a list of required initial data for the application process. Qualified companies will be invited to submit proposals through the Request for Proposal (RFP) tender process, which will help select the best candidates to manage and operate the MRO facility
