Oman prohibits the importation of live birds from certain nations.

Oman Horizon Bulletin

Ministerial Decision No. 241/2024, issued by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, forbids the importation of live birds from specific nations.

MUSCAT: In accordance with Article 1 of the ruling, the Republic of Romania, the Republic of Korea, the Tirana Region of the Republic of Albania, the Hokkaido Prefecture in Japan, and the Konya Prefecture in the Republic of Turkey are prohibited from importing live birds, their products, derivatives, and offal. Until the root cause is addressed, the prohibition will remain in effect. Products, derivatives, and wastes that are thermally treated or produced in compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health’s (WOAH) aquatic animal health code are exempt from this prohibition.

Royal Decree No. 45/2004’s Veterinary Quarantine Law, Ministerial Resolution No. 107/2008’s executive regulations, and the competent veterinary authority’s recommendation to prohibit the import of live birds, their products, derivatives, and waste from certain nations serve as the foundation for the ban.
