Sultan Qaboos University rises to eighth place in the Arab University rankings.

Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University has climbed to eighth place among Arab universities in the QS rankings for 2025, ranking among 271 Arab institutions, including seven from Oman.
Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Muna bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation and Supervisor of the Project to Enhance the University’s Position in Global Rankings, emphasized that this achievement underscores the university’s strategic significance and its role among Arab nations. She highlighted the importance of ongoing efforts and best practices to maintain and improve Sultan Qaboos University’s global standing.
Dr. Tariq bin Muhiuddin bin Muhammad Ghulam, Director of the Project to Enhance the University’s Position in Global Rankings, noted that this progress indicates the project is on the right track. He pointed out that key factors influencing the ranking include communication with employers and collaborations with researchers globally.
Several of the university’s indicators have improved in the QS Arab University Rankings, such as the job reputation index, student-to-faculty ratio, and web impact index.
