India Attacks Pakistani Territory with Missiles

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), acknowledged on Wednesday that India had undertaken a brazen missile strike on Pakistani territory, firing missiles from its airspace.
The DG ISPR stated that the cowardly crime will not go unpunished and that the missiles struck locations in Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Bahawalpur.
According to Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Pakistani Air Force reacted swiftly, turning on its defenses and stopping any Indian planes from entering Pakistani airspace.
He declared, “Pakistan will react whenever and wherever it chooses.”
26 persons, primarily tourists, were killed in the Pahalgam incident on April 22, 2025, which led to a sharp rise in hostilities between India and Pakistan. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi “vowed retribution” after the incident, saying that India would find and punish all terrorists and their sponsors. He also blamed Pakistan without providing any evidence. In response to the attack, India took several retaliatory measures against Pakistan, including barring Pakistani ships from docking at its ports, imposing a complete ban on all goods imported directly or indirectly from Pakistan, and suspending postal services from the country.
India and Pakistan also blocked each other’s airspace. Additionally, by designating defense advisors in the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi as “persona non grata” and weakening the High Commissions, India devalued diplomatic ties with Pakistan and announced the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960, which regulates the two nations’ sharing of the Indus River system. In return, Pakistan halted all trade with India and forewarned India that any military mishap or IWT violation would be met with a tit for tat reaction.
As both sides continued to trade jabs, tensions between the two nations grew. While India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh issued a warning that any threat against India will be met with a forceful response, Pakistan’s administration informed political parties on the current state of national security. Other nations also responded to the event; Iran’s foreign minister offered to assist in reducing tensions between India and Pakistan. With continuous effects on commerce and diplomatic ties between the two countries, the situation is still unstable.
