In Geneva, the Sultanate of Oman attends a United Nations meeting.

Today, in Geneva, Switzerland, the Sultanate of Oman attended the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) meeting on the Enhanced Development Program for the Occupied Arab Territories.

In a statement on behalf of the Arab Group, His Excellency Ambassador Idris bin Abdulrahman Al-Khanjari, the Sultanate of Oman’s Permanent Representative to the UN and International Organizations in Geneva, emphasized that the recent war in Gaza had disastrous effects on the Palestinian economy and labor market in general because it caused extensive infrastructure destruction, which severely reduced national productivity and raised unemployment rates.

In order to support recovery and reconstruction efforts in the occupied Palestinian territories, he called for continued collaboration with the International Labour Organization and all other international partners. He pointed out that bolstering international cooperation and expanding technical and financial support will be crucial to reestablishing the Palestinian economy on the basis of social justice and sustainable development.
