Oman Embraces Advanced Air Mobility with Boeing-MCBS Collaboration

Muscat: The Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) has partnered with Boeing to drive innovation, develop local talent, and accelerate advanced air mobility (AAM) in Oman. This collaboration aims to shape the future of urban air transport, providing sustainable and cutting-edge mobility solutions.

A Vision for the Future of Air Mobility

As part of the “Air Taxis and Advanced Air Mobility” initiative, the partnership will integrate MCBS’ strong academic foundation with Boeing’s global industry expertise. The initiative will:

✅ Equip students with hands-on experience in AAM technology
✅ Promote urban air mobility business challenges
✅ Enhance leadership and entrepreneurship skills
✅ Drive research and development in AAM technologies

With 76% of MCBS’ aviation students being women, the program also highlights a commitment to inclusivity and empowerment in the aviation sector.

Industry Leaders Speak on the Initiative

Kuljit Ghata-Aura, President of Boeing Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Central Asia, emphasized Boeing’s commitment to Oman:

“By leveraging our expertise, we aim to foster innovation and support Omani talent in shaping the future of air mobility. We look forward to seeing MCBS students explore the opportunities within this emerging industry.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Muneer Al-Maskari, Executive Chair of MCBS, highlighted the impact of the partnership:

“With the launch of the MCBS Innovation X Center, this collaboration with Boeing is a game-changer. It provides students with real-world applications and leadership development, preparing them for success in the aviation industry.”

Program Highlights and Future Outlook

Over 530 undergraduate aviation students at MCBS will participate in this initiative in 2025. The collaboration will involve:

🔹 Curriculum enhancement to integrate AAM topics into aviation and airport management programs
🔹 Student-led projects and challenges focused on air mobility solutions
🔹 Research and development initiatives, including the establishment of the Advanced Air Mobility Research Hub
🔹 Workshops, conferences, and advocacy campaigns to promote safe and sustainable air mobility solutions in Oman
