Widespread misuse mars Oman’s beaches and parks, Municipality urges responsible conduct
Oman Horizon Bulletin

North Al Batinah Municipality has warned against a string of improper behaviors rapidly spoiling these shared spaces.
MUSCAT : Officials stress that beaches and parks are intended for everyone’s enjoyment and call upon the public to act responsibly.
Municipality representatives have highlighted several harmful practices that threaten both these sites’ cleanliness and sustainability. Among the most damaging is using vehicles and bicycles on beaches, causing erosion and damaging fragile habitats. Tampering with playground equipment and disposing of waste carelessly diminishes the experience for other visitors and poses risks to children and wildlife.
Furthermore, writing on rocks, trees, and public facilities and setting fires outside designated barbecues or fire pits can deface and endanger these areas. Acts like damaging irrigation systems, uprooting flowers, and picking plants also contribute to long-term environmental degradation.
