India and France Strengthen Partnership in Advanced Technology and Strategic Sectors

Paris: India and France have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties by expanding collaboration in high-end technology sectors. This agreement was reached during the Foreign Office Consultations held in Paris on Monday, where both nations reviewed the progress outlined in the India-France Horizon 2047 Roadmap.
The discussions covered a wide range of areas, including defense, civil nuclear energy, space exploration, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and digital innovation. Both sides also emphasized the importance of institutional dialogues and initiatives aimed at enhancing cultural and people-to-people exchanges, according to a statement by India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
A key focus of the meeting was global and regional cooperation on climate change, environmental sustainability, healthcare, and Indo-Pacific security. The dialogue also touched upon trilateral collaborations, joint development projects in third countries, and pressing international issues, including the Middle East situation and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The consultations were co-chaired by India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Anne-Marie Descotes, Secretary General of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Additionally, both officials led the India-France Special Task Force meeting on Civil Nuclear Energy, further strengthening cooperation in this strategic domain.
During his visit, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also met with France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noel Barrot, and Emmanuel Bonne, Diplomatic Advisor to the French President. Their discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations across key sectors, reinforcing the long-standing strategic partnership between the two nations.
