Manah: The first-ever student startups forum for the academic year 2024/2025 commenced on Tuesday at the “Oman Across Ages Museum” in Manah, A’Dakhiliyah Governorate.
Held under the theme “Empowerment and Sustainability,” the event featured 24 student-run companies from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), spanning various fields. This two-day forum aims to emphasize the role of young entrepreneurs and foster their innovative abilities.
The opening ceremony was honored by HH Sayyid Loay Khalid Al Said and attended by Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of A’Dakhiliyah.
The first day’s agenda included three key presentations: the first highlighted UTAS’s support for student startups; the second, titled “Experiences that Build the Future,” showcased valuable insights; and the third presentation highlighted groundbreaking student projects from diverse sectors.
The forum also featured expert talks on the sustainability of startups, with participants from Oman and beyond offering their views.
In a grand closing, HH Sayyid Loay presented awards to sponsoring institutions and participants. He then inaugurated an exhibition of student startups in various industries such as AI, renewable energy, IoT, agriculture, education, health, sports, and more. Additionally, the exhibition displayed 45 research posters and a special gallery dedicated to the Muscat Innovation Complex.
