The Oman national football team is ready to begin training for the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Championship (Gulf 26), which will take place in Kuwait later this month.
MUSCAT : Head coach Rashid Jaber has unveiled the final squad for the team’s preparatory camp, which will run until the tournament begins on December 21.
The camp will include a full roster of 26 players across all positions. In goal, the team will feature Ibrahim Al-Mukhaini, Faiz Al-Rashidi, Ibrahim Al-Rajhi, and Bilal Al-Balushi. The defensive line will include Mohammed Al-Musalmi, Ahmed Al-Khamisi, Thani Al-Rashidi, Khaled Al-Buraiki, Ahmed Al-Kaabi, Ali Al-Busaidi, Amjad Al-Harthi, and Mulham Al-Sunaidi.
In midfield, Harb Al-Saadi, Arshad Al-Alawi, Abdullah Fawaz, Ahed Al-Mashaykhi, Salah Al-Yahyaei, Abdulrahman Al-Mashaifri, Jameel Al-Yahmadi, and Hussein Al-Shahari will take charge. Meanwhile, the attacking front will consist of Essam Al-Subhi, Abdulsalam Al-Shakili, Nasser Al-Rawahy, Al-Mundhir Al-Alawi, Mamoun Al-Arimi, Al-Faraj Al-Kiyumi, Moataz Rabah, Zaher Al-Aghbari, Ghanem Al-Habshi, Sultan Al-Marzouq, and Waleed Al-Musalmi.
The national team is set to begin its training camp tomorrow, Tuesday, with a friendly match against the Yemeni national team scheduled for next Monday, December 16.
The Gulf 26 Championship will officially kick off on December 21 with Oman facing Kuwait in the opening match at Jaber International Stadium. The team will also face Qatar on December 24 and the UAE on December 27 at Jaber Mubarak Al-Sabah Stadium.
