Starting on Sunday, Kuwait will host the 45th Gulf Summit, which will be attended by the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) leaders, Their Majesties and Highnesses.
KUWAIT: With preparations complete, the summit promises to address critical political, economic, and strategic issues facing the region.
His Excellency Abdullah Al-Yahya, Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the summit’s agenda, which includes discussions on strategic partnerships, cybersecurity, and advancing electrical and railway connectivity between member states.
Kuwaiti media underscored the significance of the summit. Al-Rai newspaper reflected on the GCC’s 43-year legacy of unity and achievement, celebrating its regional and international impact. The publication hailed the summit’s slogan, “The Future is Gulf,” as a beacon of optimism for Gulf citizens and a reflection of the region’s aspirations.
Prominent writer Misfer Al-Nais called for unity, noting the summit’s timing during a period of heightened challenges for the Middle East.
The preparatory meeting for the summit laid the groundwork, with GCC ministers and officials reviewing progress from the 44th summit in Qatar and deliberating on key reports, strategic relations, and pressing international developments.
