At COP29 in Baku, Oman supports ecological goals.

During the World Green Economy Organization’s (WGEO) ministerial session at the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) in Baku, Oman reaffirmed its commitment to global climate action.

BAKU: His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority, highlighted Oman’s role in driving green transformation through its membership in the Global Green Economy Alliance. Since joining the alliance, Oman has actively supported the unification of member countries’ visions, bolstering collective efforts to achieve climate goals.

Speaking at the session, Dr. Al Amri emphasized the Sultanate’s progress in aligning national policies with global strategies to reduce emissions across key economic sectors such as industry, electricity production, oil and gas, and transportation. He noted that Oman’s initiatives resonate with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, further elevating its contributions to sustainable growth.

The Global Green Economy Alliance now comprises 89 member countries, with Oman, Moldova, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines being the newest additions.
