The “Green Capture” exhibition was organized by the Environment Authority in the Al Buraimi Governorate in association with the Omani Society for Fine Arts.

Muscat – Held under the patronage of H.E. Hilal bin Rashid Al Ghaithi, a member of the Shura Council representing the Wilayat of Al Buraimi, the exhibition aimed to showcase the beauty of wildlife in Al Buraimi, raise environmental awareness, and encourage both amateur and professional photographers to creatively document the region’s flora and fauna.

The ‘Green Capture’ exhibition emerged from a competition organised by the Environment Authority, which was conducted in three phases. The first phase saw over 110 entries, primarily from school students, submitted via an electronic link. In the second phase, professional photographers and environmental observers contributed 56 additional photos. In the final stage, an international jury selected 20 photos to be featured in the exhibition, held in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Youth.

During the opening ceremony, the top three winners of the competition were announced, along with the recognition of the best five student submissions. The initiative not only highlighted the natural beauty of Al Buraimi Governorate but also aimed to enhance environmental awareness among the local community, emphasizing the importance of preserving wildlife.

Through the ‘Green Capture’ project, the Environment Authority seeks to document the diverse wildlife across Oman, while also nurturing the artistic and environmental talents of participants.
