Oman Horizon Bulletin
In the global Network Readiness Index (NRI) 2024, the Sultanate of Oman has made substantial progress, moving up 4 spots to 50th place from 54th in the 2023 rating.
Muscat – The NRI measures the extent to which countries harness the potential of communications and information technology (ICT) to boost their global competitiveness.
The NRI evaluates economies based on four key pillars: Technology, People, Governance, and Impact, each with its own set of sub-indicators. In the latest 2024 report, Oman’s performance highlighted several impressive achievements, underscoring the country’s efforts to enhance its ICT infrastructure and digital economy.
The NRI 2024 report assessed a total of 133 economies, mapping the readiness of these countries to compete in the digital economy. Oman’s overall NRI ranking of 50th places it among the middle tier of countries, with its greatest strength in the ‘People’ pillar. However, the report identified Technology as the area with the most potential for improvement, pointing to opportunities for further development in the country’s ICT infrastructure.
