Fourteenth Edition of International Tour of Oman 2025 to Begin on February 7

Muscat, February 3 – The 14th edition of the International Tour of Oman 2025 is set to commence on Friday, February 7, 2025, bringing together elite cyclists from across the globe. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth in collaboration with the Oman Cycling Federation, this highly anticipated event will showcase Oman’s breathtaking landscapes and diverse terrain.

An International Cycling Event with Five Stages

The Tour of Oman 2025 will span five challenging stages, covering various regions of the Sultanate. A total of 18 international teams from Europe, Asia, America, and Australia will compete in this prestigious race, which will conclude on February 12, 2025.

The event will kick off with the “Muscat Classic”, a 171-km race starting at Al Mouj Muscat. Riders will traverse some of Oman’s most scenic routes, including A’Seeb’s Sea Road, Al Amerat’s mountain roads, and picturesque coastal villages like Yiti and Qantab. The race will culminate in front of the State Council in Sidab. Recognized as a first-class one-day race in Asia, the Muscat Classic will award the winner 125 points in the world rankings.

Tour of Oman 2025: Stage Breakdown

  • Stage 1 (February 8): Riders will embark on a 170-km journey from Muscat College in Bousher to the stunning Bimmah Sinkhole in Qurayat.
  • Stage 2 (February 9): Covering 203 km, this segment will start at A’Rustaq Fort in South Al Batinah and conclude at Yiti Heights in Muscat Governorate.
  • Stage 3 (February 10): A 181-km stretch from Bidbid in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate to the Al Jabal A’Sharqi Mountain in Al Hamra.
  • Stage 4 (February 11): A 181-km route from the Oman Across Ages Museum in Manah to the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in Muscat.
  • Stage 5 (February 12): The final 139-km stage will commence at Imtti in Izki and conclude at Al Jabal Al Akhdar Road.

Official Announcement & Key Attendees

The details of the event were announced during a press conference attended by Saif Saba’a Al Rashidi, Chairman of Oman Cycling Association, Hisham Juma Al Sinani, Director General of Sports Care and Development at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, and Haitham Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.

With its challenging routes and breathtaking scenery, the Tour of Oman 2025 promises to be a thrilling competition that highlights Oman’s growing prominence in international cycling while offering sports fans an unforgettable experience.
