In order to improve cable quality standards, encourage the use of sustainable energy, and strengthen local manufacturing capabilities, the Oman Cables Industry has started a new In-Country Value (ICV) program.
Muscat – As part of the initiative, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion signed a partnership agreement with Oman Cables to advance the country’s industrial sector and foster sustainability.
The collaboration is focused on the exploration and integration of solar energy technologies, with the goal of reducing the environmental footprint of cable production while ensuring a high standard of product quality within Oman’s local market. The agreement also highlights the importance of transferring knowledge and best practices to local industries.
Key objectives of the ICV program include exploring the adoption of clean energy technologies through solar panels; collaborating to develop methodologies for health, safety, sustain ability standards, and sound governance principles in the manufacturing sector; enhancing cable quality in the local market and facilitating knowledge transfer; and studying tools to strengthen local content in the industrial sector.
