To empower the local industrial sector, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion has announced two important projects.
MUSCAT : These initiatives, the ‘Ta’meer’ program and the ‘Itqan’ training program, are designed to stimulate economic growth, create job opportunities, and enhance the capabilities of Omani talent.
Launched during the inauguration of its Local Content Plan for the industrial sector, the ‘Ta’meer’ program aims to increase the involvement of national products in large-scale projects across Oman.
It is designed to promote the use of Omani industrial products in the construction of major projects, with a focus on materials such as steel, cement, and other essential products. By incorporating these locally produced materials into large-scale developments, the program seeks to boost demand for national products, strengthen domestic industries, and drive economic growth.
In conjunction with the ‘Ta’meer’ program, the Ministry also unveiled the ‘Itqan’ Training Program, aimed at empowering Omani youth and preparing them to take on leadership roles in the industrial sector. This program is designed to enhance the skills of Omani workers and improve their readiness for the workforce by providing practical training opportunities in collaboration with local factories and industrial facilities.
The ‘Itqan’ program consists of three main tracks: for training job seekers, for upgrading the skills of workers in the industrial sector, and for training higher education students.
