By the end of September 2024, Oman’s airports saw a 5.1% rise in passenger traffic, with 11,102,451 passengers on 82,521 flights.
Muscat: Preliminary statistics from the National Centre for Statistics and Information revealed that Muscat International Airport handled 9,764,530 passengers, a 4.7% rise, across 73,137 flights, marking a 3.4% increase. Of these, international flights accounted for 66,207 trips, with 8,846,484 passengers, while 6,930 domestic flights carried 918,046 passengers.
At Salalah Airport, passenger numbers climbed by 6.8% to 1,230,326 passengers, despite a slight 0.6% drop in flights to 8,374. International flights totaled 4,110, serving 542,327 passengers, while domestic flights totaled 4,264, with 687,999 passengers.
Meanwhile, Sohar Airport welcomed 62,842 passengers on 544 flights, and Duqm Airport saw 44,753 passengers across 466 flights.
Indian nationals topped the list of travelers at Muscat International Airport, with 149,561 passengers (79,097 arriving and 70,464 departing), followed by Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals, recording 104,509 and 47,103 passengers, respectively.
