MUSCAT: The MENA Entrepreneurship Conference, organized by the University of Nizwa in partnership with the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibri, and Bahrain’s Royal University for Women, opened today with more than 80 researchers and experts from more than 20 countries.
Key topics in the entrepreneurial ecosystem will be covered during the event, with talks centered on innovation, difficulties, and research-supported opinions from professionals across the globe.
More than 80 prominent experts and thinkers will present almost 100 papers under ten different themes at the conference, which covers subjects like the issues faced by entrepreneurs, the importance of scientific research in innovation, and the future of entrepreneurship in the MENA region. The goal of the conference was emphasized by Dr. Salem bin Saeed Al Abri, dean of the University of Nizwa’s College of Economics and Information Systems, as being to “examine new trends in entrepreneurship and enhance our awareness of obstacles and opportunities.” He underlined how entrepreneurship significantly affects national economies, boosting GDP and encouraging innovation and job creation.
The dean of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibri’s College of Economics and Business Administration, Dr. Nasser bin Mohammed Al Kathiri, emphasized the conference’s contribution to fostering economic sustainability and empowering young entrepreneurs.
Participants participated in three thought-provoking panel discussions after Dr. Raja Susana Binti Qaam of the University of Kelantan Malaysia gave the keynote address on “Skills Dynamics and Entrepreneurship Growth in Southeast Asia and the MENA Region.” The impact of government support on innovation, the importance of artificial intelligence in digital entrepreneurship, and methods for turning laboratory research into goods that are ready for the market were among the subjects covered.
Distinguished attendees, sponsors, and supporters received awards during the event’s inauguration, and His Excellency also unveiled the fifth edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor’s country report.
