Hotel revenues in the Sultanate of Oman have increased significantly; by the end of September 2024, graded hotels (three to five stars) were bringing in approximately RO 163.6 million.
Muscat: According to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information, this is a 6.3 percent increase over RO 153.9 million at the same time last year.
A 7 percent increase in total hotel guests, from 1,445,800 in 2023 to roughly 1,547,242 by the end of September 2024, is responsible for the revenue growth. Furthermore, there was a 1.6 percent increase in the occupancy rate.
According to the data, the number of Omani visitors increased significantly, increasing by 6% to 605,333. However, there was a minor decrease of 0.5 percent in the number of Gulf visitors, who came to 157,644.
The number of visitors from other Arab nationalities rose by 14.8 percent to 79,143, indicating a notable increase in other demographics. Additionally, the number of visitors from Europe increased by 15.8% to 342,016.
In addition, the data showed that 42,239 visitors were from the Americas, a 2.7 percent rise. The number of visitors from Asia increased by 6.1 percent to 227,762, while the number of visitors from Africa increased by 5.2 percent to 8,820. On the other hand, visitors from Oceania had a significant drop of 29.7%, amounting to 21,740.
A favorable trend for Oman’s tourism industry is demonstrated by the rise in hotel earnings and visitor numbers, which highlights the country’s attraction as a travel destination for both domestic and foreign tourists.
