Ministry Warns Of Rising Fraud Involving Fake Chinese Company Websites

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion has issued an alert regarding the rise in fraudulent activities linked to counterfeit websites posing as legitimate Chinese companies.

Muscat – The Ministry is urging citizens and residents intending to engage with Chinese companies to verify the authenticity of their information through the official channels to ensure the company is registered with the relevant authorities in the People’s Republic of China.

The Ministry stated that it has observed a recent rise in fraudulent activities involving counterfeit websites of Chinese companies. “We strongly advise citizens and residents intending to engage with Chinese companies to verify the authenticity of their information through the (Tain Yan Chan) app or by visiting www.gsxt.gov.cn to ensure the company is registered with the relevant authorities in the People’s Republic of China. Please note that the app and website are available in Chinese only, and we recommend using Google Translate for assistance in understanding the content. We wish you continued success,” stated the alert.
