Oman to host first International Association for Translation and Cultural Studies Conference in the Middle East

Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) will host the 8th International Association for Translation and Cultural Studies Conference from December 10 to 13, 2025.
Muscat: This conference will make Oman the first country in the Middle East to hold it. The conference, themed “Sustainable Translation in the Age of Knowledge Extraction, Generation, and Reproduction,” aims to spotlight Oman’s growing influence in translation and cultural studies.
The four-day conference will be a global platform for researchers, academics, and specialists to explore key topics in translation studies and intercultural communication, focusing on how translation operates within the current knowledge-driven landscape.
Dr. Abdul Jabbar Al-Sharafi, Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, emphasized the cultural significance of the event, stating, that the aim is to underline the importance of Oman’s contributions to international translation and cultural dialogue.
Abstract submissions for the conference are now open for researchers and interested participants through the International Association for Translation and Cultural Studies official website. This milestone event will further position Oman as a bridge between diverse cultures and a global translation studies leader.
