Ashgabat (Republic of Turkmenistan) October 11 (ONA) — The Sultanate of Oman participated in the international forum “Interconnectedness between times and civilizations – the basis of peace and development” on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of poet Makhdum Quli Faraki with a delegation headed by His Excellency Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, which was held in Ashgabat, Republic of Turkmenistan, during the period (10-11 October 2024) with the participation of specialists from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The forum was attended by high-level officials from Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Iran, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
This participation comes as an affirmation of the role of the Sultanate of Oman in promoting dialogue between civilizations and its appreciation of culture and literature as a means of achieving peace and sustainable development, and the importance of cultural and historical communication between countries and strengthening civilizational ties, through celebrating the poet Makhdom Quli Faraki, who is a cultural symbol in Turkmenistan and has an influence on world literature.
Participation highlights the contribution to enhancing cultural cooperation with Central Asian countries, promoting mutual understanding among peoples, and encouraging cultural dialogue, which supports efforts to achieve world peace and sustainable development.
The Sultanate of Oman’s participation in this international forum enhances its position as a country that supports cultural and civilizational dialogue, and highlights its role in consolidating the values of tolerance and peace among nations through cultural and intellectual communication.
